Comment Moderation Policy

Our core mission here at Astronomy for Change is to affect positive change through astronomy and science education by inspiring and empowering current and future generations to become engaged and interested in Astronomy and Science.

Science is, at its core, the pursuit of the truth. Truth is an objective reality, not a perception, and we must follow that truth no matter where it leads. All our content springs from this central mission and philosophy. As such, our only agenda is to present and teach science (astronomy is the oldest of the sciences) from that position. We have no political agenda.

Since education is an interactive experience, all (or most) of our content is open for public comment with the following conditions:

There is not now, nor will there ever be any AI tools or robots on our site. As such, all comments are individually read and manually vetted. This approach may take a bit longer but, in the end, our integrity will have been maintained.

No comment will be approved if the following is determined:

  • The comment lacks relevance, in whole or in part
  • The comment is an attempt to disseminate propaganda
  • The comment attempts to promote a particular political narrative, agenda or ideology
  • The comment is threatening
  • The comment contains hate speech
  • The comment is spam or an attempt to sell or distribute a product or service

Our decision and the disposition of the comment is final and non-negotiable.
